The Miniature Aircraft Association of Westchester (MAAW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and flying radio-controlled aircraft. If you’re considering entering the hobby, we certainly encourage you to attend one of our club meetings or to visit us at the MAAW field to see first hand what “flying R/C” is all about. MAAW is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered club. For insurance purposes, all MAAW members are also required to be active members in the AMA. Our current membership consists of individuals from virtually every geographical area of Westchester. Our diverse membership represents a wide variety of backgrounds, professions, and ages. MAAW membership is open to all residents of Westchester County. Proof of residency, current AMA membership and proof of FAA Registration are required prior to joining and at the time of each membership renewal. Application forms for both AMA and MAAW memberships can be obtained from the MAAW Membership Director, or by printing them here. Adobe Reader will be needed to print all the forms, newsletters and files from this web page.

MAAW has two classes of membership based on age. Senior members are all members 16 years of age and older. Junior members are club members under 16 years of age. Senior dues are $75.00 per year. Junior dues are $15.00 per year. There is also a one-time Initiation fee of $25.00 for new senior members. If you are accepted as a club member you will be given membership pin stickers with your Name and AMA number and the year of membership. Mounted on a clip, you will use this sticker at the field when you fly and you will also need this sticker to enter the park at reduced rates during the season. Certification by a club Instructor or Officer is necessary for you to fly without supervision. All new Senior (Solo) Pilots are under an initial one-year probationary period. If you have questions, you can email our membership director at membership@maawrc.com or come to a meeting.
Club meetings cover a wide range of aviation topics, demonstrations, and guest speakers and are held monthly, currently on the 3rd Saturday either at the Croton Colonial Diner in Croton on Hudson, or the field, at 9am.

Our Field is located within Westchester County’s Croton Point Park.    For our location on Google Maps click here.

-Have fun!
