ABOUT US

The Miniature Aircraft Association of Westchester (MAAW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and flying radio-controlled aircraft.

The MAAW club was formed in 1977 after local radio-control pilots, persuaded the Westchester County Legislature to provide recreational space for them.

The Miniature Aircraft Association of Westchester began to flourish when, together with the county, it obtained land exclusively for its use in November 1983. The reclaimed land, owned and maintained by Westchester County, is capped with an impermeable cover which encapsulates the landfill.

From 1983 till present it is used daily (Weather permitting) by club members to enjoy the wonderful hobby of Remote Control Aircraft. Or RC for short.
